Senior Project Manager

Job Summary

This position is for a highly experienced individual in charge of managing other architectural staff through project documentation and delivery, and capable of managing large-scale, complex projects for the firm. This individual will be responsible for the coordination of all project efforts and serve as the primary client liaison to bring the schedule, budgets, scope of work, and design to completion and to the client’s satisfaction.

Experience & Education:

  • Professional Licensure preferred

  • 10+ Years professional experience preferred

  • 5+ Years managing projects preferred

  • NCARB Certification strongly preferred

  • Technical or Professional degree in Architecture or Related Field

  • LEED, WELL, or PHIUS certification strongly preferred

  • Substantial experience in all phases of project development & execution

  • Experience managing at least one project over $10,000,000 Construction Value

Job responsibilities would include:

  • Oversee all coordination with consultants and other trades

  • Maintain client relationships and serve as the face of the firm for projects assigned

  • Manage project teams of architectural staff as assigned

  • Assign, delegate, & ensure quality completion of design/documentation tasks

  • Complete workplans for assigned projects that ensure adequate resource assignments and quality completion of deliverables

  • Oversee & manage project profitability & schedules

  • Review design details in accordance with firm-wide Documentation Standards

  • Attend continuing education seminars to advance skillsets

  • Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure functional, accurate, high-quality documentation of designs

  • Develop redlines for project teams

  • Collaborate with team to develop creative design concepts, space planning, and architectural layouts

  • Evaluate the design suggestions of others and find consensus on the best design solutions

  • Complete construction observation, shop drawing review, and other aspects of the construction phase

  • Oversee preparation of client presentations

  • Develop and/or review complete code studies

  • Mentor staff members as appropriate with regard to detailing, documentation, and design

  • Conduct training seminars for other staff, based on personalized knowledge and expertise, as requested

  • QAQC other teams’ projects, as assigned

  • Participate in design reviews

  • Follow firm-wide standards across the board in detailing, graphics, modeling, and design

  • Ability to manage architectural staff as assigned per project

  • Ability to manage and develop client relationships

  • Ability to evaluate various types of technical drawings

  • Strong understanding of architectural detailing; ability to evaluate and assess details

  • Strong technical product & systems knowledge

  • Strong understanding of content generation requirements for each drawing type

  • Strong understanding of set construction & organization

  • Strong understanding of specifications and ability to review for technical completeness

  • Strong understanding of applicable building/zoning codes and industry standards

  • Ability to comprehend and evaluate complex code issues

  • Ability to document a building design completely from start to finish

  • Strong graphic skills

  • Basic Revit skills in both documentation & modeling preferred, as required to understand time requirements and complexities in order to direct team

  • Software knowledge including: 

    • Autodesk Revit​

    • Microsoft Office Suite

    • Bluebeam

    • Adobe Suite preferred

    • Basic AutoCAD preferred

    • Autodesk 360 preferred

    • Basic Enscape preferred
