Summary:
This position is for a highly experienced, licensed architect, perfecting their documentation and design skills through the design, detailing, and supervision of firm projects. This individual performs a variety of assignments requiring skills in all conventional aspects of architectural designs for projects of moderate size/complexity, and serves as a Subject Matter Expert in their specialized area of interest. They should be detail-oriented, collaborative, and offer strong written & verbal communication skills.

Education & Experience:
-
Professional Licensure in at least one jurisdiction
-
10+ Years professional experience preferred
-
NCARB Certification preferred
-
Technical or Professional degree in Architecture or related field
-
LEED, WELL, and/or PHIUS certification strongly preferred
-
Demonstrated sensitivity to design based on professional portfolio
-
Substantial experience in all phases of project development & execution
-
Experience in multiple phases on at least one project over $10,000,000 Construction Value

Job responsibilities would include:
-
Develop creative design concepts, space planning, and architectural layouts, and refine these concepts to ensure quality, complete designs
-
Evaluate the design suggestions of others
-
3D Modeling of design concepts, utilizing firm-wide BIM Standards
-
Complete design details in accordance with firm-wide documentation standards, for review by project managers
-
Produce high-quality 3D visualizations of architectural designs
-
Attend continuing education seminars to advance skillsets
-
Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure accurate, high-quality documentation
-
Research and incorporate design elements independently to implement into designs
-
Address and incorporate redline markups from the project manager or QAQC reviewer
-
Work ahead of redlines based on an understanding of what content is required for each drawing type
-
Develop redlines for less senior staff
-
Progress the project in between direct assignments based on knowledge of complete set generation requirements
-
Assist in Basis of Design selection & detail creation based on products selected
-
Generate custom detail components & families as required for the project
-
Complete construction observation, shop drawing review, and other aspects of the construction phase
-
Coordinate design elements & systems with consulting engineers, as assigned
-
Prepare and lead client presentations, under the direction of the project manager
-
Develop complete code studies for review by Project Manager
-
Mentor staff members as appropriate with regard to detailing, documentation, and design
-
Conduct training seminars for other staff based on personalized knowledge and expertise, as requested
-
QAQC other teams’ projects, as assigned
-
Follow firm-wide standards across the board in detailing, graphics, modeling, and design

Strong understanding of content generation requirements for each drawing type

Strong understanding of set construction & ability to cartoon sets with little oversight

Strong understanding of BIM file maintenance & file fidelity
-
Strong understanding of specifications and ability to relay appropriate information
-
Strong understanding of applicable building/zoning codes and industry standards
-
Ability to comprehend and evaluate complex code issues
-
Ability to document a building design completely from start to finish with minimal oversight
-
Ability to train, mentor, and direct others as applicable based on the Project team
-
