INSPIRE Speaker Series : 02 What's In A Name?

Updated: Jun 29, 2021

Join MCF Architecture & Steve Cicero, to hear fascinating stories surrounding the names of places & things around Pittsburgh.

Steve Cicero is a former history instructor in the Butler Area School District. He is active with numerous historical organizations throughout Western PA as a part-time instructor, and volunteer, as well as several retired educator groups. In addition, he is always looking for ways to promote local history and historical sites through presentations and tours. Because he is willing to travel far and wide to talk about our amazing local heritage, he is now known as The History Hobo.

We are surrounded by names that we see or hear every day and never think about where they came from.

Forbes Avenue, William Flynn Highway, PPG Paints Arena, Allegheny River, Phipps Conservatory, Fayette County, Perry High School, Duquesne Incline.

Most of these places and things have names of historical significance & fascinating stories.

Be entertained & educated about Pittsburgh & the region. Join us for "What's In A Name?"

This program will be hosted via Zoom. You will receive additional details upon registration.
