Huffman Dining Hall
Denison University
As part of the Denison University Master Plan Update, MCF conducted extensive interviews with food service staff, administration, and students to better understand the dining needs of the campus. What came out of this was the renovation of Huffman Dining Hall, a 1959, Georgian revivial style building on the East Quad of campus. The basement work, 716 square feet, includes a new kitchen prep space to accommodate serving local produce, a second means of egress, an enlarged storage room, and upgrades to mechanical and HVAC equipment. The first floor work, 13,735 square feet, includes accessible rest rooms, removing the central communicating stair, new servery stations to support a ‘fresher cooking’ delivery style, upgrades to kitchen equipment, new dishwashing room, enlarged storage room, and new finishes in the dining hall space.
