Summary:
MCF has an exciting opportunity for a Finance Manager. This position is for a highly organized and precise individual, who will assist in developing/monitoring project budgets and be instrumental in guiding and advocating project managers and principals in the financial management of projects. In addition the successful candidate will be able to oversee accounting and finance related activities. This individual is also responsible for the review of the operating budgets and financial reports and reporting to the Board of Directors.
Job responsibilities would include:

Overseeing work of the Controller and Profitability Manager.

Managing project financial reporting/review process with PM’s and PIC’s to determine profitability.

Developing corrective action plans for projects as needed.
-
Reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating accounting components such as:
-
accounts payable and receivables,
-
cash flow and credit card payments,
-
project and financial data in accounting software,
-
all aspects of billing, including billing projections and monthly billing reports,
-
pre-proposal work plans, fee calculations, and project contracts to coordinate financial data,
-
quarterly and year-end tax payments,
-
annual overhead calculations and hourly rate analysis,
-
shareholder information and formulaic stock valuation,
-
bonus/profit sharing calculations, and
-
monitoring and management of state/federal loans and tax credits as applicable.

Overseeing and evaluating insurance renewals/issuing certificates of insurance.

Working with outside accountants relative to financial reporting and tax compliance requirements.

Overseeing banking services and 401K/Profit Sharing Plan.

Evaluating financial reporting systems, accounting or collection procedures, or investment activities and makes recommendations for changes to procedures, operating systems, budgets, or other financial control functions.

Reviewing and presents financial reports for board meetings.
The ideal candidate must have the following skills for consideration:
-
10 years’ experience in the field of finance.

Technical or Professional degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting. CPA preferred.

Experience with architectural, engineering or other service-related business that has project management requirements preferred.

Ability to review & evaluate various types of financial reports with an understanding of project-based accounting and accounting software.
-
Ability to develop, analyze, and interpret accounting information in order to appraise operating results as it relates to profitability, performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization.

Ability to think strategically to guide financial pathways with an expertise in identifying and addressing financial risks.

Ability to translate complex financial reports to convey messaging to Board of Directors, President, and Project Managers.

Ability to manage shifting priorities and prioritize tasks to effectively meet deadlines while communicating progress to President and Board of Directors.

A keen eye for detail and desire to probe further into data with organization, time management, and self-motivation skills.

Collaborative nature with an ability to work independently on assigned tasks.

Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of management, staff, and clients.

Highly creative, forward thinking, organized, and a team player.

Ability to independently solve problems and exercise sound judgement with minimal direction.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Unanet or Deltek Ajera accounting software.

Experience with payroll, profit sharing, and insurance renewal software a plus.
