Summary:

MacLachlan Cornelius & Filoni, Inc. d/b/a MCF Architecture in Pittsburgh, PA has multiple openings for a work-at-home Architectural Designer III (with the ability to telecommute, with the appropriate telecommuting systems. The remote work location must be within commuting distance of Pittsburgh, PA for weekly trips to the corporate office) to be responsible for performing architectural tasks under minimal supervision, including performing design concept integration & technical documentation on small to mid-size projects.

 

Specific duties include:

i.      3D Modeling of design concepts and utilizing firm-wide BIM Standards

ii.     Producing high-quality 3D visualizations of architectural designs

iii.    Completing design details in accordance with firm-wide Documentation Standards

iv.    Researching and incorporating design elements independently to implement into designs

v.     Addressing and incorporating redline markups from other members of the project team

vi.    Assisting in Basis of Design selection & detail creation based on products selected

vii.   Generating custom detail components & families as required for the project

viii.  Assisting in construction observation, shop drawing review, and other aspects of the construction phase

ix.    Coordinating design elements & systems with consulting engineers

x.     Developing complete code studies for review by the project manager

Education:  

• Must have a Bachelor of Architecture degree (or foreign equivalent), plus three (3) years of experience in a directly related position

​

The ideal candidate must have experience with or knowledge of the following:  

i.      AutoCAD

ii.     Revit and SketchUp

iii.    Generating and evaluating various technical drawings

iv.     3D Visualization skills

v.      Using Bluebeam and Adobe Suite

vi.     Architectural detailing

vii.    Technical Products and Systems

viii.   Content generation requirements for each drawing type

ix.     Developing set construction and cartooning sets with little oversight

x.      BIM file maintenance and file fidelity

xi.     Building/zoning codes and industry standards
